Make Room For Santa 5K & 1/2 mile kid Run

On Saturday, December 13th we all woke up early and ran the Make Room for Santa 5K & 1/2 mile run. We were all tired (at least Ben & I were) and almost didn't go. I am glad that we did. It was a fun and small run. Many participants dressed all festive, even though it was freezing cold in the morning. Next year I will remember to at least wear festive holiday socks. The best thing was that Santa was there to greet everyone at the finish line. What a fun morning!

Getting ready to go...

Look who we ran into after the 5K

The Kids 1/2 mile run
Trevor did an awesome job running the entire 1/2 mile

Great job Trevor!
Our next race will hopefully be January 9th for the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Half Marathon and 5K.

Just for Santa

We made Gingerbread Men for Santa this year for Christmas. My boys enjoyed adding their eyes and buttons. Tyler, of course, only used green M&M's.

Santa left the boys a nice letter thanking them for the cookies and reindeer food. They were very excited to receive his letter in the morning.

My boys had fun decorating their Christmas Train and Gingerbread Houses.

Happy Holidays from the Star Family

This year our family pictures are from our recent trip to the Grand Canyon. As you can see, we are all bundled up for a cold day. The view was beautiful and we had a great time, so we had to share it with everyone.

Happy Holidays!

Tyler's 3rd Birthday Bash

So my little guy Tyler had a My Gym birthday party. This is a great place for birthday parties. They basically do everything for you. You provide the kids and food and they do it all. I loved it!

The theme for Tyler's party was Mickey Mouse. I choose this because we love going to Disneyland and he loves watching Playhouse Disney. So I figured it was perfect. But when I mentioned this to him (after I bought almost all the party goods) he told me that he wanted a "motorcycle doggie" birthday party!? I had no clue where he got that from. But I kept on telling him about a Mickey party. He kept disagreeing with me but when we bought the last party items, he saw party blowers and he had to have them. So that made everything better. As long as he had the party blowers, he was happy.

2009 Holiday Home Tour

Christmas Tour of Homes with The Nester

Welcome to my home! This is my 1st year participating in the The Nester Christmas Tour of Homes. I am very excited to share my holiday decorations. I think I actually might have gone a little overboard on some stuff, but I only get to decorate once, right? I hope you all enjoy it!

I love snowmen! Here's my growing collection of snowmen.

This is my holiday shelf with scrapbooks/albums of previous holidays.

This is my fireplace mantle. It holds our stocking holders, previous holiday cards we sent out, a Santa gingerbread train , and reindeer food (We plan on giving Santa the reindeer food when he visits).

Our stockings! I actually made them. Not the actual stocking but the designs on the stocking. (I free-handed each name & pictures.) I love the reindeer I made for Tyler. And I wish I could re-do my angel.

Our Christmas Tree

I took a close up of the front of our tree. I love the little hand print of my big kid.

If you want to see pictures of our lights in front of our house, you can check our my previous post Our Holiday Lights.

Thanks for visiting and hope you all have a great holidays!

Disney Holidays

I love having a Disneyland annual pass! Its great to be able to go when we feel like it and then head home after just 2 hours. I especially love it during the holidays. We have only been to Disneyland twice this holiday season but they were both great.

We visited
Disneyland 1st in the beginning of December just to see the holiday parade and holiday firework show. It was awesome! I loved seeing all the cute snowmen and toy soldiers. And the firework show was enchanting! I love Sleeping Beauty's castle with all the icicles and holiday lights. Here are some pictures of our fun night.

It has been a tradition to go to Disneyland for the kid's birthday. This year, Tyler is going to be at school to celebrate with is classmates so we planned on going to Disneyland a week early (also wanted to avoid the rain). Tyler had such a fun day! It was all about him and he knew it. I kept asking him how old he was and he kept showing me his 3 fingers. The 2nd time we visited Disney was during the weekday morning and there were no crowds. The longest line we waited in (for Small World) was maybe 10 minutes. It was great! We rode Small World, the Monorail, Autotopia, and the Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. We also watched the Star Wars show twice. (My boys love this show). They always want to watch but not participate. We ended our day at Disney but visiting Downtown Disney and going through the fun shops, like RIDEMAKERZ & Build-A-Bear Workshop.
